Shaikh Aarij Anwer is a specialist in morphological tafsir and Arabic, currently serving as the Director of Islamic Education at Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque in Toronto. Born in Karachi and raised in the Greater Toronto Area, he holds a Bachelor of Islamic Sciences from Al-Madinah International University of Malaysia. Additionally, he has studied Qur’an, Arabic, Fiqh, and Hadith with scholars from Egypt and Pakistan.
Shaikh Aarij has taught Arabic to over 500 students worldwide and has published a complete Arabic curriculum for Islamic schools. He is the founder of Qutoof Academy, which focuses on advanced Arabic studies, and has authored a book on the Prophet’s (S) supplications. As an instructor with AlKauthar Institute, he travels internationally to teach tafsir.
In addition to his Islamic education, Shaikh Aarij holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and is pursuing a Master’s in Tafsir from Al-Madinah International University.
A registered religious official, Shaikh Aarij presides over marriages and leads an annual umrah group, focusing on seerah and tafsir on site. He is a dedicated speaker, instructor, counselor, and khateeb. He lives in Brampton with his wife and three daughters.
Currently, Shaikh Aarij is the Islamic Education Coordinator for the London Muslim Mosque and teaches the Steps to Arabic program at AlKauthar Institute. His multifaceted expertise and dedication to Islamic education have made him a prominent figure in the Muslim community.
